Examining Cat Breeds

Examining Cat Breeds

For thousands of years, cats have essentially taken care of their own reproduction.  They had only one function at first: to hunt and murder rodents.  As time went on, we started breeding cats that we liked more.  If you look attentively, you can tell that there are various different breeds of cats nowadays.

Cat registries are used to identify the more than 70 different breeds of cats that exist today.  A few registries only accept about 40 breeds total since they don't include more common breeds like tigers.  There are numerous other variants as well, such as longer-haired wild cats.

Certain cat breeds have a long history dating back to their origins.  Certain Japanese breeds have a history spanning over a millennium, like the Japanese Bobtail.  Throughout medieval Japan, these cats were quite prevalent and well-known.  Currently, nevertheless, they are virtually extinct in Japan and the rest of the world.

The alley cat, long haired cat, and Persian cat are among the more popular cat breeds in North America.  Siamese cats are also popular, despite the fact that they are notorious for being disruptive and odorous.

In North America, alley cats are the most prevalent.  Though most of us just call them alley cats, there are actually a few distinct breeds.  Despite the fact that there are practically thousands of them, they make wonderful pets.  More cats than any other pet are known to reproduce, and they will keep doing so unless they are stopped.  Since hundreds of thousands of cats are homeless and have nothing to do but reproduce, alley cats are among the most bred.

The simplest method to determine a cat's breed is to look at him or her.  Even if color isn't as distinguishable, some individuals still opt to go by it.  Cat breeds vary in appearance; two examples of these are Siamese and Persian cats.  Siamese cats are easily recognized by their eyes and color since they are nearly always black.  In contrast, Persian cats can be easily recognized by their hair and body type.

Many different breeds have emerged over the years.  Among the first and undoubtedly the most popular pets were cats.  Cats are owned by millions of people worldwide, and many people say they prefer cats to dogs and other pets.  Whatever breed of cat you choose, you can be sure that your new pet will be a wonderful friend for many years to come.
